Take just five minutes to read the following. You are not obligated to ANYTHING by reading it. IF there is a God, you owe it to your own soul just to read what He has said about what happens after you die. Salvation What is salvation? Well, salvation is not just a ticket to heaven so we can walk eternally with Jesus. No, salvation is an escape from eternal damnation and a wrath that has been promised to come. You may start to read this and get flooded with questions like: "Why would God cause suffering in the world." Or, "I was told something other than this." Well, may I beg you to just read through the entire document. If there is a God, this will be the most important decision you will ever have to make. If there is a God, I think you owe it to your own soul just to see what the Bible says... I do not wish to tell you what I think or what any one religion says about this matter. I wish to tell you exactly what the Bible says about going to heaven. If God created everything it would be fair that He would make the rules. It is the same as if you have a child. You have certain rules that the child should follow. God's rules are not grievous to us. I would like to start with a quote from the Lord God Himself. It is found in the book of Isaiah1:18, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Do you realize that God said that? What is He talking about? Well, please read. See God wants to forgive you of your sin, no matter what that sin is! But God does not just forgive just anybody. He forgives those who want to be forgiven and repent (turn from sin to Jesus Christ). The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" But what is a sinner? Well let me ask you some serious questions. Do you think that if you died today you would go to heaven? Are you a good person? When I ask this question, the response is usually, "Ya, I'm a pretty good person...I do more good than bad, and I try hard not to do bad." I would like for you to just quickly compare yourself to just 3 of the 10 commandments. Don't worry, nobody is watching you, nobody will know your answers... this is just between you and God. The 10 commandments are found in Exodus chapter 20. 1. Thou shalt not bear false witness (lie). Well reader, have you ever told a lie? Even a little 'white lie?' Be honest, I think it is safe to assume that you have. Now, even if you have told just one lie...what would that make you? (Please just be very honest, it is just between you and God remember) It would make you a LIAR. Don't worry, your not alone. 2. Thou shalt not steal. Reader, have you ever stolen? Anything? It doesn't matter how small. If you have stolen---this would make you a ... ...THIEF. Just one more... 3. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Reader, have you ever committed adultery? For this question I almost always get a solid "NEVER!" But let me remind you that Jesus said in Matthew 5:28, "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Men, if you just lust after a woman in your heart, you are an adulterer in the eyes of Jesus Christ. Women, ever lusted after a man? Same thing, this makes us ADULTERERS. Some people will say they have never stolen or committed adultery but they will admit to lying... if you are one of these people remember this: the BIBLE says in James 2:10, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." Now, if you said yes to all three, by your own admission you are a Lying, Thieving, Adulterer at heart. you have broken the holy law of God. On Judgment day, you must face a Holy, True, Just, God as a lying, thieving, adulterer. He will Judge you, by the standard of the 10 commandments do you think you will be held guilty or innocent?
